· Inspectors are in the office from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. weekday mornings. This is the only time they are available for phone calls. Office staff does not contact inspectors for questions when they are out of the office.
· Inspections must be requested by 4:00 p.m. for inspection requests.
· It is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that job site is ready for inspection before request is submitted. If inspector travels to job to only find out that job is not ready a $75.00 trip fee will be charged.
· Inspectors lay out their route before 8:00. Same day cancellations can cause major adjustements to that schedule and will be charged a $75.00 fee to reschedule.
· Inspection times are estimates and are subject to change due to inspections taking more or less time to complete, traffic issues or emergencies. Office staff does not contact inspector to verify where they are.
· No inspections will be made if Building Permit is not posted. Inspector will also charge a $75.00 trip fee.
· Inspectors do not come back in the afternoon so inspection results are not available to office staff until the next working day. Inspection results are left on the job site (typically they are left in the job box if available). Office staff will not contact inspector for results.
· Request for reinspection can only be scheduled after the inspector has entered his results. Office staff is unable to reschedule inspection until results are entered and any trip fee is paid.
· An inspection must be completed within six months from issue date or permit will expire and fees shall not be refunded or applied to a new permit. If work is discontinued for a period of 12 months, the permit will expire. This is verified by an inspection being completed at least once a year.
